Transfer Case Pin

If you are reading this page, your transfer case might be stuck in Low or High range, Locked or Unlocked! You are not the first Grenadier owner who has lost the pin in the lever of the transfer case. If your transfer case lever isn't moving, because you can't pull the safety pin up, you have come to the right page.

Step 1: FIND THE PIN!

Step 2 – remove boot (pull sharply up) pulls off rather easily and extends over knob.

Step 3 – 2 flat head screw drivers and carefully pry 2 clips to remove whole boot and knob assembily

Step 4- carefully remove metal shaft and spring (centre)

Step 5 - this can be done while disconnected from vehicle.

Locate both holes and line up correctly. THIS CANNOT BE DONE WHILE LOCATED IN VEHICLE. Rod must be removed to seat spring and boot correctly for the holes to line up.

If you have read this, and it saved you a tow truck, please make sure to get Lewis Or Rob a beer on the next Club meeting!

If you don't want this to happen, there are differnt ways to assure the pin stays in: Electric tape or the below velcro solution has been proven to work
