First club wrenching day (fully booked, but please feel free to come for a BBQ or chat)
🛠️ INEOS 4x4 Club QLD: Simpson Prep & Wrenching Day
Get Under the Hood (and Under the Chassis) at Murchison Products!
The mighty Simpson Desert is calling, and a successful crossing is won or lost in the garage before you ever hit the red sand. To make sure our Grenadiers are 100% bush-ready, we’re locking in a hands-on, under-vehicle inspection day at one of the best off-road prep garages in the business.
Whether you are locked in for the crossing or just want to know your vehicle’s undercarriage inside and out, this is an invaluable, practical club day.
This is the first time we are trying this, so we are limiting the number of cars on the hoyst to 8. Everyone is welcome to come along for a chat and can now register (but there won't be space for more grenadiers in the workshop). We will be having the BBQ going around 12, so feel free to come for a drink or Sausage.
Euro Flo will outline how to better the seal the airbox of a Grenadier!
📅 The Details
-
Who: All INEOS 4x4 Club Queensland members
🔍 What We Are Covering
We aren't just kickin' tires. We are getting the Grenadiers up on the hoists to inspect the critical components that the remote tracks love to challenge.
Please note, this is a chance to work on your grenadier yourself or together, it's not work done on your car by a mechanic!
some ideas are outlined in this video
-
ABS Sensor Cables: Checking routing, securing loose lines, and identifying rub points to ensure corrugations don’t leave you with a dashboard full of warning lights.
-
Undercarriage & Breather Lines: Verifying breather locations, checking protection plates, and securing vital wiring.
-
Suspension & Steering Rack Inspections: Spotting early signs of wear, checking torque on key bolts, and ensuring everything is tight and true.
-
Pre-Desert Q&A: Rubbing shoulders with the experts at Murchison to talk specific terrain prep, tire pressures, and heavy-load management.
🎒 What to Bring
-
Your Grenadier (with a reasonably clean underbody—nobody likes a shower of dried mud while under a hoist!).
-
A notepad/phone for taking photos of your specific under-vehicle routing.
-
Camp chair and a travel mug.
-
A keen eye and plenty of questions.
⚠️ Safety Note: Because we will be working around active workshop hoists, closed-toe footwear is strictly mandatory for all attendees. No thongs or sandals in the bay!
