INEOS 4x4 Driver Awareness Training 14 & 15 November

Course Description:

Our basic four-wheel drive course teaches you how to operate and maintain a Grenadier while you perform a broad range of four-wheel drive skills in varied contexts, using your discretion and judgement when selecting equipment, services or contingency measures. We have created this training for individuals but also couples. For couples who are both members, we advise you both to come and both to register for this event so that you can enjoy the updates via Member Jungle chat. During this course you will:

• Identify four-wheel drive specific terms, terminology and techniques
• Plan for minimal environmental impact
• Perform pre-departure checks on a four-wheel drive vehicle
• Use a four-wheel drive vehicle to cross different terrains
• Co-ordinate the recovery of a four-wheel drive vehicle
• Understand how to use the specific Grenadier functions which you don't use on normal roads. 

Course Duration and dates:

This driving course is conducted over two full days (practical) and one evening of theoretical instruction (9 November). 

You will be required to camp at Black Duck for the training weekend. It is possible to book accommodation in Gatton if you are not keen on camping but prefer everyone to remain near the training facility.  (camping and access fees are not included)
Once you register for this event, we will secure a camp spot for you from Friday till Sunday ! (so please let us know if you can't make it) This camping spot is close to shelter 4 from where we will start all the training and will have our Saturday night meal together. (bring your own BBQ meat/vegetables). It is a 200-meter walk to the showers and toilets (or you can drive if you prefer).

You need to pay for your own camping spot when you enter the park (20 dollars unpowered per person per night and 30 dollars for access to the 4wd tracks per day). You only pay for what you use, so if you decide to come on the Saturday, you only pay for 1 night of camping. Please mention you are with the INEOS group (or 4wd Queensland) for a discount on these rates. 

Training starts on Saturday at 8 AM and finishes on Sunday at 3 pm. 

What you need to bring:

• The grenadier Jack
• A jacking plate and tools to get the spare tyre off the rear door. 
• Rated shackles (2) (please note that the larger rated shackles are not an easy fit with the INEOS, you might prefer soft shackles over the larger steel shackles)
• Snatch strap / Kinetic recovery Rope (the best rating for a non-modified INEOS is about 9000 kg not more!)  (contact us if you are not sure what to bring)
• Cable dampener         
• Shovel
• Ground sheet
• UHF radio (can be portable) 
• Closed in shoes or boots – for out-of-vehicle exercises. (yourself and your partner)

• Air Compressor
• Equaliser strap (or tree trunk protector)
• First Aid Kit         
• Fire Extinguisher
